Italian heritage shows off in fashion and your kitchen
Whoever said that in heaven the chef must be Italian didn’t overestimate it a bit. However, we don’t have to wait until getting there, because the Italian home appliance company SMEG is teaming up once again with Dolce & Gabbana, in order to turn your kitchen into the kingdom of glory.
Last spring, they allied for a series of high-fashion refrigerators, which bring the Italian style into your home, but also keep your veggies fresh. The new line, named “Sicily Is My Love”, will be available starting this October and includes toasters, citrus juicers, coffee machines, kettles, blenders, stand mixers and slow juicers.
The designs are inspired by Southern Italian folklore, also the source of the latest Dolce & Gabbana collections, and cluster symbolic motifs such as ornamental friezes, decorative acanthus leaves, lemons, prickly pears, bright red cherries, floral patterns and Mount Etna.
These kinds of collaborations are constant for the Italian brands (see Gucci and Fiat 500 limited edition cars), which struggle to honour their exuberant heritage – so full of color and stories, the absolute dolce vita lifestyle.
