Fagioli and Cenčić – two prestigious countertenor at The Enescu Festival

Franco Fagioli is universally recognized as one of the best countertenor nowadays. His voice, with its huge range of three octaves, has been unanimously praised for its beauty, while his technique set new performance standards. Fagioli was born in San Miguel de Tucumán in northern Argentina. Improving early his skills as a pianist in his hometown was followed by vocal studies at the Instituto Superior de Arte of the Teatro Colón in Buenosa famous Aires, where urged  by the renowned baritone Ricardo Yost, the pianist Celina Lis and her teacher Annelise Skovmand, he  began to train as countertenor. International fame came in 2003 when he won the prestigious prize Bertelsmann “Neue Stimmen”.

Max Emanuel Cenci became known internationally as a member of the Vienna Boys Choir, before embarking on a solo career in 1992 as soprano and countertenor position in 2001. At the moment, it has appearances on some of the most important stages of the world, including the Vienna State Opera, Theater an der Wien, the Bavarian State Opera, Semperoper in Dresden, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Frankfurt Opera, Theater “Carlo Felice” in Genoa. As a vocal-symphonic musician, Max Emanuel Cenci performed in famous venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Barbican Centre in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Musikverein in Vienna, the Festspielhaus in Baden-Baden, Hamburg Laeiszhalle, Palais Garnier in Paris.
