A contemporary musical value of your country and one of the most appreciated violin players in the world is the Romanian Alexandru Tomescu. His name is on the agenda of the Enescu Festival, 2015 edition, together with the “AD LİBİTUM” Quartet that goes with his name. He will play pieces written by Ravel and Bartok, with his famous Stradivarius violin. He is known to the Istanbul public where he was acclaimed at some recitals in 2013 and 2014.

When I have the time I enjoy listening to Turkish classical music, but I also listen pieces belonging to the world`s greatest composers, such as Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin`s, Ravel`s Bolero, Vivaldi`s Seasons, Strauss` waltzes, “. After my coming in Romania, I have enjoyed listening to the Rhapsody No. 1 in A by George Enescu and I could feel an authentic Romanian element deep within.

I must confess I had the opportunity, during this one year since I am an ambassador in Bucharest, to be in the impressing concert hall of the “George Enescu” Philharmonics, at the Romanian Athenaeum, assisting to various concerts and I am delighted to remember that at the end of March I have also listened to the Prelude of the opera Cosi fan tutte by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
