Ferrari has recently claimed, through his current headman, Sergio Marchionne, that it shall not produce electric vehicles; never. „This is an obscene idea”, he explained to the journalists that came at this year`s edition of the Geneva Auto Show. How trivial would such an idea be, it is something to be certainly assessed.

The absurdity of another curiosity expressed by the specialized press representatives accredited at this big event is undoubted and non-debatable. The question “will Ferrari launch an autonomous model?” received the clear answer: “You would have to shot me first!” The explanation – “the experience of driving is one of the core features of any supermodel” – came, probably, as a shock for those experts who wouldn`t hesitate to ask an Argentinean farmer if he would complete his beef supply with some vegetables and berries, as there is such an important vegan trend on the global market these days.

Most likely, Don Sergio didn`t make peace with the thought of a possible supreme sacrifice, but it is most likely – due to the interesting times that we live – to jeopardize the future of the crown`s jewel (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) with this rigid attitude. And all these are done in the name of defending a principle that more and more conformists consider not just obsolete, but also plain toxic.

Because – and if we didn`t hear this yet, we shall be clarified soon enough – sport cars pollute the air, but in particular they pollute the minds of those that drive them. With just a bit of luck, the supermodels, as we know them today, shall get out of this militant urge safe and sound; at least for a while. The fact that they are a rare presence on the roads should represent an advantage; a powerful enough advantage and able to compensate the displeasure caused by the elitist character – a favorable target for the social justice battalions.

Two legendary brands defy the trend of electric automobiles

While Ferrari was in the headlines thanks to the sharp statements of its headman, two other famous brands were ensuring the success of the Swiss exercise with a similar number of dream models. Aston Martin, the favorite brand of the most controversial fictional spy of all times, has irremediably seduced us thanks to the mechanic lyricism of the new DB11.Bugatti, on the other hand, has chosen, as it was expected, to shock with a new collection of excellent models called Chiron – the more ferocious descendant of the wild eminency that Veyron was.

DB11 is, without any doubt in mind, the most sensual car of 2016, ready to tempt and break the hearts of drivers. Beyond the sex-appeal that was designed by the best team, the British GT generously provides other charming details: a giant V12 engine, of 5.2 liters, over-fueled and able to deliver 600 horse-power; the performances are great (it takes 3.9 seconds to reach one hundred kilometers from the ground up and the maximum speed is 322 km/h), profiled seats covered anatomically in ultra-fine leather, a generous touch screen with a interface that was “borrowed” from Daimler, and an audio system created by Bang & Olufsen.

The producer ensures those who are interested in buying the car that this is the most “customizable” model ever created by Aston Market. The price of the most accessible DB11 shall be 154,900 pounds.

A wheeled jewelof 2, 4 million euro

This money is nothing compared with the Bugatti Chiron`s price „before adding the options: 2, 4 million euro! The price demanded by the Italian – French – German producer emphasizes the privilege of owning one of the most special car ever built, but also the membership to an exclusivist club – a limited number of 500 models shall be ever produced.

The same way as Veyron did in the old days, Chiron – just by simply popping up – becomes the supreme athlete of the auto world. Its 16 cylinders engine has an eight liters capacity and no less than four over-fueling systems, a well thought architecture that is able to produce exactly 1,500 horse power.

The few humans who shall ever tread on this beast, will be transported into a parallel reality, where the sprint from 0 to 100 kilometers lasts just a bit over 2 seconds, and the maxim speed must be electronically limited for the daily use to… 420 km/h. Theoretically speaking, Bugatti claims that Chiron is perfectly capable to get to 460 km/h and that is enough to break the performance that placed the Veyron Super Sport in the World Records – 430.9 km/h speed.
