Its declared mission is the art of your time: to increase the visibility of contemporary art in Romania, to

contribute to the development of the still young gallerist profession and to the creation of genuine, valuable market-rates for Romanian artists. Its portfolio brings together resonant names like Sorin Ilfoveanu and Ștefan Câlţia, iconic figures in the Romanian culture; likewise, artists who are better-known in the countries which have adopted them, and which should be equally known in their native Romania: the Romanian-British Paul Neagu, with works at the Tate Modern or the Musee d’Art Moderne in Paris; Mircea Roman with awardwinning sculpture in Osaka and memorably exhibited in London; Laura Covaci, with paintings of post-Communist alienation shown in French and North- American galleries; Dorin Cretu, with reflexive, abstract works purchased by the National Contemporary Art Fund of France. Next to them, artists who define the whole body of Romanian contemporary art, ranging from the senior, trail-blazer Vladimir şetran to the very young and promising Constantin Rusu and the group TAA_2011, plus artists of the 90s: the sculptor Adrian Ilfoveanu and the painter Francisc Chiuariu, with a strong presence in gallery and auction transactions. Located in a listed building of the 30s, with the added profile of contemporary design and technology, AnnArt is singled out by its imaginative, multi-disciplinary approach in promoting the artists and lobbying for the art of your time – offering, along with the art works themselves, critical texts and catalogues, films, art consultancy and school education and, last but not least, an annual award.
