Adrian Borda was born in 1978, in Reghin, Romania. He began to paint 12 years ago and commenced his artistic education at the Art High School in Târgu- Mureș, then continued his specialization in Iași at “George Enescu” University, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, painting section. He has had a series of personal and group expositions at Târgu-Mureș, Iași, Reghin, and Eindhoven, the Netherlands. His works are part of private collections all over the world: United States, Hungary, Canada, France, Switzerland, Japan, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Belgium and Greece.

His style is quite eclectic, combining elements from hyperrealism, surrealism, with imagery of the cyber world, with cultural metaphors recalling the Flemish masters and the Dutch Golden Age with a direct hint towards Vermeer’s allegories. Mr. Borda’s paintings create a type of “GENRE” of their own, a bestiary, imagined and romanticized with hybrid cuts of everyday life screens.
